General Utility Supervisor - Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino
Manages and directs stewarding staff to maintain a sanitary food & beverage environment. Maintains inventory of supplies required to service guests within the food & beverage operation.
What will I be doing?
The General Utility Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring the back-of-house operations run smoothly and meet Hilton’s highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate stewards and cafeteria attendants to achieve departmental goals for cleanliness, efficiency, and safety.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that reflects Hilton values and promotes teamwork and accountability.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate priorities, events, and sanitation expectations.
Sanitation & Compliance
- Supervise cleaning and sanitizing of all kitchen areas, including dish rooms, storage areas, walk-ins, loading dock, staff cafeteria, and waste management zones.
- Maintain compliance with Aruba Health Department standards, Hilton Brand Standards, and local sanitation regulations.
- Oversee proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals following OSHA and property safety guidelines.
Inventory & Equipment Control
- Manage inventory and distribution of the “Big Four” items: china, glassware, silverware, and linen.
- Conduct regular inspections for cleanliness and damage; ensure repair or replacement as needed.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment and dish machines with Engineering.
Operational Support
- Ensure proper staffing coverage for daily operations, banquets, and special events.
- Monitor and control costs related to cleaning supplies, detergents, and stewarding expenses within approved budgets.
- Collaborate with culinary and F&B leadership to maintain operational flow and readiness for service.
Safety & Sustainability
- Promote safe work practices and lead by example in maintaining a hazard-free environment.
- Support the hotel’s recycling, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.
The General Utility Supervisor should demonstrate working knowledge of EcoSure and EarthCheck standards, supporting the property’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence. This includes applying best practices in sanitation audits, sustainability benchmarks, and continuous improvement aligned with Hilton’s global initiatives.
