Associate Data Engineer

What are we looking for?

The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

Knowledge of Distributed systems and Parallel processing

• Understanding of MapReduce programming paradigm and Spark execution framework
• Hands-on Knowledge with Hive queries
• Knowledge of Big Data concepts and programming concepts along with an understating of RDBMS solutions.
• Proficiency with unit testing and defining test cases
• Experience in helping production support teams by solving Incidents/Problems
• Deliver maintenance and improvements for existing software or packaged applications
• Adhere to coding standards/procedures and participate in code reviews
• Experience in Agile software development and relevant processes
• Strong teammate, interested in sharing knowledge with other team members, and shows interest in learning new technologies
• Strong critical thinking skills ownership mentality and continuous learning
• High level of accuracy in work production and attention to detail

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

• Professional or academic experience in Technology or related field
• Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g. Java, Scala, Python)
• Experience with SQL and/or No-SQL databases
• Exposure to AWS, Hadoop, and/or Redshift technologies

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus six (6+) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus twelve (12+) years of Technology related experience
• Two (2) years of work experience in Technology or related field
• Exposure to Big Data technologies such as Spark, Spark-SQL, Data Frame, Pair RDD's, Spark YARN
• Knowledge of ETL, Data Warehousing, and Data-lake concepts
• Any ETL or Big data training and certifications
