As a Lead Cloud Network Engineer, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Network Engineering team reporting to Senior Manager Global Network Engineering, you will support projects including the architecture and engineering of Hilton networks supporting all corporate offices and hotel locations.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Analyze requirements, coordinate with requestors, and manage vendors
  • Maintain an overview of the Hilton Global Network topology and assist with necessary connectivity requirements
  • Be responsible for all aspects of network engineering standards, policies, and operations, including network programmability (Python, scripting, and RESTful API) and orchestration
  • Develop and implement network policies to optimize network performance across corporate and hotel locations
  • Maintain a comprehensive documentation and overview of the enterprise network topology, focusing on Cisco and Meraki routing/switching infrastructure, and support connectivity needs across corporate and branch locations.
  • Be a technical lead for the network engineering team and strong knowledge of Cisco/Meraki networks. Mentor junior team members, including configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of Cisco/Meraki networks, with an emphasis on routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and campus network design.
  • Develop operating metrics for all elements of the corporate environment and manage network vendor and OEM performance
  • Demonstrated capability to be autonomous as lead cloud network engineer in multi-phase / multi-year network projects, leading to successful implementation

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Cross-functional: Participate in team meetings that involve team members from within other networking areas of Hilton. Your expertise will guide discussions on cloud network planning, technologies, deployment, and operational challenges. You will promote a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaboration. The departments within Hilton's network are numerous, and to collaborate with them is essential when it comes to accomplishing projects/tasks.
  • Internally: Work within the Global Network Engineering (GNE) team to ensure high-availability, secure, and scalable network infrastructure. Participate in regular strategy meetings to enhance campus network performance, align with cybersecurity policies, and support application-specific network requirements.
  • Externally: Work closely with external vendors, including Cisco/Meraki partners and service providers, to optimize network solutions and ensure project success. Strong vendor management skills are essential for scoping and executing network initiatives.

What projects you will take ownership of:

  • As a Lead Global Network Engineer, you will take on critical projects that solidify our corporate/hotel network infrastructure and enhance our operational efficiencies. Among your responsibilities, you will:
    • Corporate Office Network Modernization: Lead the design and implementation of Cisco/Meraki-based network solutions, leveraging advanced routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, SD-WAN) and switching technologies to ensure solid performance, scalability, and security. Deploy Meraki SD-WAN solutions to optimize connectivity across distributed locations. Part of this role is gathering requirements from stakeholders, network design, building a bill of materials and determining circuit types and sizes.
    • Network Automation Initiatives: Develop and deploy automation scripts using Python and Ansible to streamline Cisco/Meraki device configuration, monitoring, and management. Create reusable scripts to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
    • Lab Testing Initiatives: Develop and deploy various Hilton network initiatives such as Connected Room, Casting, multicast, QoS configurations, monitoring, and management. Create related diagrams and documentation for the various support groups.
    • Network Hardware & Configuration Standards: Develop standards along with required documentation for our global networks to guide network deployment efforts.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Four (4) Years of proven Network engineering hands-on experience at Global Enterprise organizations.
  • Three (3) years of working experience with Cisco MS350, MS425, C9300 switch networks, Meraki MX, MS, MR, MT, and MV devices.
  • Three (3) years of experience in networking technologies, including SD-WAN, VPN, IPSec, BGP, Multicast, MPLS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, HA and Load Balancing
  • This is a hybrid role and would require to be near one of our three US office locations (McLean, Dallas, or Memphis)
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA)

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience
  • Seven (7) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors and managed network service providers.
  • Experience in enterprise-level network security incidents and Change Management process.
  • Experience designing/implementing Cisco/Meraki networks that are geographically diverse, using SD-WAN, cellular, and satellite connectivity, including HA.
  • Experience with automation technologies such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform for network deployment and management.
  • Experience with other private and public cloud providers (connectivity, availability, resilience, and security).
  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP), CMSS, AWS SA Professional
