HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Own and communicate Software Engineering's standard processes, work efficiency, and quality. 
  • Build and drive adoption of the best methods and follow core software engineering principles. 
  • Create positive partnerships with the product leadership, quality engineering, and software engineering management. 
  • Enhance onboarding and ongoing training to create a team of committed software engineers and technical analysts. 
  • Establish metrics and code review process to track efficiency and standard methodology adoption. 
  • Provide technical oversight to the vendor team to ensure quality technical implementation. 
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and identify opportunities to incorporate new tools and techniques into our development process. 

How you will collaborate with others:

  • You will collaborate with multiple teams including Product, Design, and Architecture to drive efficiency, standards, and maintain the technical integrity of property management technology.  
  • Be an engaged member of a software engineering team working with business team members daily, identifying and documenting their needs.  
  • Work with external vendors to deliver enhancements/fixes on PMS system. 
  • Use a customer-centric approach to create and manage business and technology processes.  
  • What projects you will take ownership of: 
  • Overall technical implementation for our next generation , cloud-based property management system known as PEP (Property Engagement Platform). 

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Ten (10) Years of professional experience in Technology or related field 
  • Six (6) Years of Management/Supervisory Experience 
  • Experience working with technologies including but not limited to AWS cloud solutions, Microservices and API management 
  • Experience in Agile methodology best practices and familiarity with Agile software tools such as JIRA  
  • Travel up to 25% 

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience 
  • Fourteen (14)+ years of professional experience in Technology or related field 
  • Strong understanding of database design and development, including SQL and NoSQL databases 
  • Understanding of Hotel Property Management Systems 
  • Eight (8)+ years of Management/Supervisory experience 
  • Experience in the hospitality industry
