Business Development Manager - Area Sales Team Mexico
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.
What your day-to-day will be like:
- Directly responsible for soliciting, qualifying, and generating and converting new business for our Mexico hotels.
- Identify and research unmanaged and prospect accounts to spot the potential for growth, estimate the size of the opportunity and growth potential, and help guide personalized conversations with prospective clients – for both group and transient business.
- Responsible for complete qualification of each account to determine at a minimum (number of events, total revenue potential, booking patterns and history, decision-making factors, event, business, and personal needs, resources, and competition).
- Manage overall account planning strategy to facilitate growth.
- Demonstrate an understanding of negotiating business travel sales contracts with corporate accounts, an understanding of the RFP Process, with business travel sales terminology, and business travel sales reporting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of group business, sourcing tools, and group business terminology.
How you will collaborate with others:
- Make introductions to clients during sales calls, tradeshows, conventions, and local events.
- Assist hotels with conflict resolution, contract negotiation, support of hotels' business/revenue needs, and closing sales.
- Represent Mexico Area Sales Team and with leadership in familiarization (FAM) trips, travel and domestic tradeshows and industry events to meet with unmanaged accounts and generate new business opportunities.
What deliverables you will take ownership of:
- Identify priorities of hotels and maintain strong relationships with them.
- Produce a yearly pre-determined revenue in room, meetings, and food & beverage to the corporation.
- Achieve booked domestic revenue quotas. Set and achieve sales competencies as discussed between you and your manager.
- Maintain Salesforce/MicroStrategy reports, including call reports, meeting profiles, history, and traces.
- Submit monthly reports, ad hoc reports, and complete projects and deliverables by due dates.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Five (5) years of professional experience
- Three (3) years of direct sales experience in travel industry
- Experience with prospecting and account development
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
- Spanish and English fluency (oral and written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Web-Ex, MS Teams and Zoom
- Travel up to 25%
It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- BA/BS bachelor's degree
- Experience in Delphi or similar property sales management system
- Experience using Salesforce and MicroStrategy
- Travel to United States as needed
