The iconic Waldorf Astoria property in New Orleans, The Roosevelt, is seeking a Full-Time Aesthetician to join the team!

Our luxury hotel offers an unparalleled combination of Southern hospitality, world-class service and historic surroundings. As the centerpiece of the city, the hotel is located near the French Quarter and within walking distance to the city's most vibrant attractions and entertainment, including Jackson Square, Bourbon Street and the Arts & Warehouse District.

Embodying the rich heritage of Southern hospitality, the historic hotel features 504 rooms, over 60,000 square feet of meeting space, and five (5) food and beverage outlets. This includes 2 restaurants, a café, seasonal rooftop bar, and in-room dining.

An Aesthetician is responsible for providing professional facial, cosmetic and hair removal services for guests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.


What will I be doing?

As an Aesthetician, you would be responsible for providing professional facial, cosmetic and hair removal services for guests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Provide professional facial, cosmetic and hair removal services in accordance with state, local and company health and safety regulations
  • Utilize, maintain and conduct inventory of supplies and products and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Ensure product knowledge
  • Maintain records as required by federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest service issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Perform general Spa duties, as needed

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate and perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Proficient in performing skin care treatments for hand, foot, neck shoulders and décolleté.
  • Proficient in advising client on personal skin care.
  • Proficient in performing depilatory waxing.
  • Knowledge of cosmetics and aromatherapy

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • The applicant must have experience and knowledge in performing facials, waxing, hand treatments, skin care prescription as well as an understanding of essential oils. 
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills, and have a well-groomed appearance.

EDUCATION

  • High School graduate or higher. 
  • Must hold a current license as required by the state.
  • Additional education/training in skin care, beauty therapy applications and consultations is preferred.
  • Further training from recognized cosmetic companies is preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in performing skin care/aromatherapy treatments for the face neck, shoulders, décolleté, hand and foot treatments. 
  • Experience in the cosmetic field, cosmetic sales, and depilatory waxing.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  • Valid cosmetology license as required by the state.
