Uniform Attendant - Waldorf Astoria New York
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Uniform Attendant who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and luxury service, aligned with our goal of achieving Forbes 5-Star status. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with seamstress experience, capable of using both a sewing machine and hand-sewing light alterations to ensure uniforms and guest clothing are always in perfect condition. You should have a passion for providing exceptional service, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage inventory, dry cleaning coordination, and uniform repairs. A flexible schedule and the ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail are essential in this role.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Prior experience as a seamstress, with the ability to utilize a sewing machine and hand-sew light alterations such as hemming, button replacement, and minor repairs
- Experience with ironing and pressing clothing to ensure it is always presented in pristine condition
- Ability to manage uniform inventory, track needs, and coordinate dry cleaning and laundry services efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring all uniforms and guest clothing are processed and returned in the best possible condition
- Ability to provide exceptional guest service, handling guest clothing requests with care and ensuring timely delivery of services
- A passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism, in line with Forbes 5-Star service expectations
- A proactive attitude and a strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- A commitment to maintaining the luxury standards of the hotel while contributing to an elevated guest and team member experience
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
