HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Implement accessibility strategy set forth by Manager, Digital Accessibility.
  • Improve ways to grow adoption and integration of accessibility into the messaging platform and chatbots.
  • Conduct full accessibility audits (web and mobile)
  • Audit third-party vendor technologies, packaging results into actionable feedback, and prioritizing identified defects.

How you will collaborate with others:     

  • Partner with Experience Design and User Research colleagues to ensure we are developing the best user experience for guests with a disability.
  • Train Enterprise Quality Assurance Center team on how to test for accessibility and how to use assistive technology.
  • Train developers on basic accessible code and how to use assistive technologies.

What projects you will take ownership of:

  • The accessibility compliance of our cross-channel unified messaging platforms.
  • Deliver self-service documentation and in-context training to advance the software delivery teams' abilities to deliver accessible and inclusive digital experiences.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of work experience in the digital accessibility field.
  • An understanding of WCAG 2.1 (all levels) and tactical knowledge of WAI-ARIA and W3C standards-compliant HTML, CSS, and basic understanding of mobile accessibility.
  • Demonstrated experience applying accessibility and usability principles, including Universal Design, that impact users with disabilities
  •  Hands-on assistive technology experience with at least 2 screen readers
  • Travel up to 10%

It would be useful if you have:

  • Previous experience working directly with people who have a disability
  • Certification in Accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, or CWPA), Mobile Development, or User Experience
  • Experience distilling technical accessibility concepts and terminology into easy-to-understand terms
