The Security Administrator is responsible for supporting the daily operations and administrative functions of the Safety & Security Department at the Waldorf Astoria New York. This role provides comprehensive assistance to the Security Department Leadership Team to ensure the seamless management of the property. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, polished communication, and a commitment to upholding the Waldorf Astoria’s legacy of refined service and luxury living.

What will I be doing?

  • Receive, log, and securely store all incoming lost and found items.

  • Coordinate the return of found property to rightful owners via mail, shipping, or in-person delivery.

  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries regarding lost property through phone communication.

  • Collaborate with security personnel to locate lost items within guest rooms and other areas.

  • Maintain comprehensive records and logbooks for the Lost & Found department, ensuring data accuracy.

  • Review and edit daily payroll punches to ensure accuracy for the Security department.

  • Administer Personnel Action Forms (PAF) for leave requests and other personnel changes within the Security team.

  • Maintain and organize all payroll records for the Security department.

  • Assist in guest follow-up communications, report writing, and processing insurance claims as needed.

 

The rate of pay for this role is $31.25 - $36.06 and is based on applicable and specialized experience.

The ideal candidate excels in an administrative role that demands accuracy, discretion, and exceptional attention to detail. With a strong sense of service and a collaborative mindset, you will help ensure the Security Department operates smoothly while enhancing the overall guest experience through effective communication, organization, and genuine care.

 

What we are looking for,

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Experience with payroll systems and administrative forms preferred.

  • Customer service-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.

  • Proficient in computer applications, including time clock management, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.

     

  • Strong multitasking abilities, capable of managing various responsibilities efficiently.

  • Familiarity with the New York City metropolitan area, including street layouts, building locations, and directions.

  • Skilled in maintaining extensive logs, records, and filing systems with a high level of accuracy and organization.
