As a Manager Software Engineering, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Software Engineering - Property Platform team reporting to the Senior Director New Venture Delivery, you will support projects including working with hotel teams and internal business partners to define and deliver technology applications that support Oracle’s Opera Hosted PMS application.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Support PMS strategy for Strategic Properties, including assisting with the evaluation, analysis, and implementation of new PMS solutions or technology directives.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for Hilton’s strategic properties in order to gain an understanding of the issues/challenges and lead triage efforts with software engineering and/or vendors/partners.
  • Work on requirements, use cases, and user stories and help refine for development teams using Agile methodology and Confluence/Jira tools in relation to applications that support Strategic Properties.

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Work with our PMS vendor and multiple Technology workstreams to ensure delivery commitments are being met.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and successfully identify risks and issues to manage expectations and to mitigate identified risks to delivery commitments.
  • Document issue progress and risks and provide relevant updates to key stakeholders and leaders.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering in an Agile environment to deliver on new features.

What projects you will take ownership of:

  • Manage special projects initiated by strategic properties requiring software engineering and participation.
  • Drive Hilton Technology teams and vendors/partners to deliver quick resolution on open issues and deliver new enhancements for strategic properties.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of professional experience in Technology or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience with Opera and with hotel on-property technology
  • Two (2) years of experience managing technology delivery
  • Two (2) years of experience with the following tools/applications: Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel (can perform complex functions), Word, Sharepoint, and Teams
  • Capacity to effectively support property and business stakeholders and drive internal and external technology partners
  • Ability to document application requirements and convey them to the development teams
  • Ability to navigate multiple technology and business teams to establish clear project timelines and dependencies
  • Travel up to 20%

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience 
  • Seven (7)+ years of professional experience in Technology or a related field
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in hotel operations and/or with hotel on-property technology
  • Three (3)+ years of experience with Oracle’s Opera property management application
  • Two (2)+ years of experience with the following tools/applications: Jira, Confluence
