Lead Data Engineer, Nationwide
What are we looking for?
We believe the success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:
- Develop ETL/ELT jobs (batch and real-time) for structured and unstructured data using Scala, Apache Spark, Talend
- Proficiency in large data sets, Hadoop, data lakes, and cloud services
- Experience in application development and strong object-oriented programming using Scala and Java
- Proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases such as Hive, AWS Redshift, and My SQL
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Experience in requirement gathering, analysis, design, code review, and Unit and Integration testing
- Proficiency with unit testing frameworks and defining test cases
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Seven (7) years of work experience in Technology, Analytics, or related field
- Five (5) years of work experience in Data Engineering
- Three (3) years of experience with Big Data technologies and platforms, including but not limited to AWS, Hadoop, Redshift, Spark, Talend, and Hive
- Three (3) years of software/platform design and implementation experience
- Two (2) years of experience with object-oriented programming in Java or Scala
It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience
- Nine (9)+ years of work experience in Technology, Analytics, or related field
- Experience with Talend or Informatica
- Certifications in AWS, Talend, and/or Informatica will be a plus

For Colorado applicants only: The annual salary range for this role starts at $81,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Hilton offers its eligible team members a comprehensive benefits package including medical and prescription drug coverage, dental coverage, vision coverage, life insurance, short-and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, paid time off, and our travel discount. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company.
