Position Purpose

To be a) a passionate HGI host and b) continuously monitor and assess health and safety at the hotel, ensuring compliance with local labour laws, Clean Stay Standards and Hilton policy, in order to deliver fantastic team member and brighthearted guest experiences.

 

Duties & Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute all duties assigned by the General Manager and Kitchen Management Team
  • Create all food safety plans in the hotel and monitor their execution according to Bahrain Law and OHSAS standards and including the proper documentation of everything related to Food Safety in the Hotel.
  • Establish a culture of health and safety at the hotel, ensuring top cleanliness and hygiene in all areas under your responsibility
  • Inspect equipment and areas of the hotel to observe possible unsafe and unhygienic conditions, and make sure any identified risks are resolved
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures and coordinate their implementation
  • Always keep the safety of our guests and team members at the forefront in everything you do, making sure you are visible in the hotel to reassure where required
  • Control daily temperature report from stores, kitchen and engineering, take appropriate action when needed
  • Makes sure every food handlers follows the grooming standards set by Hilton Garden Inn and local authorities
  • Conduct regular audits from all food and beverage supplier, inspect hygiene and temperature for food and beverage delivery vehicles
  • Spend on average 30 minutes per day to assist colleagues in Ops Departments such as Kitchen, Stewarding, Receiving, F&B Service, HSK, Maintenance, FO / Guest Assistance in providing brighthearted guest experiences. Simply lend a hand where it is most needed and be a highly collaborative and supportive colleague for others. 
  • Investigate food related accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle team member / guest compensation claims
  • Share lessons learnt from accidents and incidents with the Hotel Leadership and suggest actions to prevent future incidents of similar or same type.
  • Plan, offer and conduct training with all food handlers team members on relevant health and safety procedures that must be adhered to within their roles to meet the local legal requirements and our Hilton internal standards including HACCP and Basic food hygiene
  • Attend departmental and hotel team huddles and pro-actively participate with contributions on the topic of health and safety
  • Be highly knowledgeable in food hygiene & safety standards, HACCP certified and share your knowledge with others in the hotel
  • Maintain fantastic cross-departmental collaboration, establishing particularly effective working relationships with security, F&B, housekeeping & engineering
  • Volunteer to participate in TM campaigns such as Brighthearted or TwP committee.
  • Be a role model for others in regards to passionate, friendly service in line with HGI brand values and behaviours.
