Global Creative Director
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.
What your day-to-day will be like:
- Encouraging and elevating the team and the work around you; building the best possible creative environment and leading by example.
- Proactively understanding and gaining knowledge of our business, brands, target audiences, and competitor activities.
- Supporting the rollout of our global marketing platform ‘For the Stay,’ partnering with external agencies, independent contractors, and internal stakeholders to align positioning efforts.
- Interacting with business partners and partners in various capacities, facilitating effective decision-making.
- Give and receive feedback internally and outside the design team; provide critiques respectfully and productively.
- Conceptualizing with the team, providing feedback, guiding, or informing creative strategy. Cultivating learning new tips, tricks, shortcuts, design tools, etc.
- Collaborating with partner teams and other members of the internal creative studio to understand business goals, marketing objectives, and creative needs to support various marketing campaigns and projects.
- Adhering to Hilton’s brand identity and accessibility standards and guidelines while helping to inform the evolution and extension of the visual identity.
- Identify where to invest time and energy best, know when to be involved versus hands-off, and prioritize our work.
- Staying current on industry trends and standard methodologies, particularly in the digital and social space; sharing ideas and recommendations for innovating new templates and design approaches.
- Leading and shaping our external agency partners and bolstering our creative freelance roster.
How you will collaborate with others:
- Partnering with the VP/CD/ACD/Designers/Strategists/Copywriters to develop compelling creative solutions across omni-platform touchpoints with a customer-first lens.
- Working closely with the leadership and operations team regarding talent management, recruitment, retention, and training. Recognizing, inspiring, and motivating the talent of those on the team.
What projects you will take ownership of:

Helping plan and run effective creative brainstorming workshops and creative presentations for our partners across marketing, brand, and corporate lines of business.
WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT
You have these minimum qualifications:
- Ten (10) years of relative design experience
- Five (5) years managing creative teams
- Experience working in/with highly matrixed organizations, and marketing departments, understanding business goals, and finding creative solutions
- Experienced in applying style guides creatively while upholding brand identity
- Travel as needed (estimated 20-30%)
- Strong portfolio showing a range of design, experience, concepts, and global campaigns
- McLean, VA-based position (3 days in office on average)
It would be useful if you have:
- Experience creating global brand guidelines
- 360 global campaigns
- Editorial lifestyle and storytelling experience
