The award-winning Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for a Fitness Supervisor to join the Spa Team!
Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.
The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and Beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and in-room dining.

Classification: Full-Time
Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $25.00 per hour and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years experience in customer service in a high-end fitness center or luxury spa environment and hold a minimum of 3 specialist fitness certifications as well as conduct a minimum of (5) different specialized class types currently offered. Certifications include:
- Personal Training
- Group Fitness
- Clinical
- Human Performance
- Specialty, such as Weight Loss, Nutrition, Wellness Coaching
What will I be doing?
The Fitness Supervisor is responsible for providing a clean and safe environment in the fitness center, studio and lap pool area. Managing day-to-day strategies and operations of their facilities. They will oversee the fitness instructors and fitness attendants and help assist as an MOD for the spa & fitness. This position is responsible for risk management, facility usage and programing execution. The Fitness Supervisor will assist the Fitness Manager with employee schedules, create ideas and actions for revenue growth, navigate crisis management, and assist with providing facility tours with new members.
Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Develop standard and programming for the fitness and activities team, ensuring they are following luxury Forbes standards.
- Provide an orientation tour, explaining the equipment and classes offered and answering guests’ questions.
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized fitness environment through consistent monitoring of the facility.
- Audit fitness classes to ensure standards a being met and classes are well attended.
- Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the fitness, activities and spa department.
- Actively promote the fitness center, classes, spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
- Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests and ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
- Program and execute weekly, monthly and seasonal events in fitness and wellness..
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
- Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the fitness, activities and spa department.
- Assist in all areas of fitness, group fitness and spa operation as requested by management.
- Maintain personal appearance and grooming standards consistent with company standards.
