Overview of Role

A Director of Sales - MICE with Conrad Hotels and Resorts will contribute to Sales plan that maximizes revenue by driving the sale of conference facility space and guest rooms.

As a Director of Sales - MICE, you will work to maximize revenue opportunities through the sale of conference facility space and guest rooms. He / She will be directly responsible for performing the following task to the highest standards: 

  • Responds to group RFPs through making proposals and sales presentation to prospective clients as well as explain, negotiate and close hotel sales
  • Maximise all Conference & Events revenue opportunities
  • Prepare contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and price conditions
  • Conduct site inspections and host as entertainment for potential clients where relevant and appropriate
  • Review sales and other revenue generating business plans, identify gaps, ensure proactive measures to fill hotel and conference space capacity, and meet set targets
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel and manage the departments so that Team Members adhere to the strategy.
  • Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays competitve in the local market
  • Ensure the team is developed effectively and embraces a culture of high quality standards and proactive selling
  • Work effectively to build relationships with colleagues in the hotel operations department
  • Expand new customer acquisitions and manage contacts with existing Guests and key contacts of PCOs, Event Planners, NTOs, Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre
  • Build sales plan for the hotel to include sales targets based on market analysis. Create the hotel's MICE/Group sales activities plan
  • Organise comprehensive information to existing and potential customers with regards to the product range offered by the hotel, with the aid of the relevant sales resources and channels
  • Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the hotel and the management company
  • Contribute to relevant management meetings to develop and implement sales and marketing initiatives
  • Participate in industry events and represent the hotel at national and international specialist trade fairs and workshops, agreed by Commercial Director and in co-ordination with the whole Business Development
  • Monitor offers, options and discounts for repeat bookings for groups, congresses and seminars in close cooperation with the Group Coordinator
  • Conduct 'Bring Back Old Business' and repeat calls to increase demand and overall revenue
  • Review the sales activities of the team ensuring that they are achieving the minimum number of activities per week 
  • Ensure that sales call plans for the team are submitted on weekly basis
  • Cooperate with other departments in the hotel, particularly Reservations and the Banqueting Department, to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs
  • Support Commercial Director in supervising and coaching Sales Coordinator through supportive relationship
  • Support Commercial Director in tasks such as team members' training and performance related assessments
  •  Ensure that market segmentation and Delphi standards are adhered by keying in accurate data into the system
  • Cross-sell F&B outlets where the opportunity arises
  • Able to forecast with a certain degree of accurancy future revenue by month
  • Any additional tasks assigned by Commercial Director

- Excellent organisational and planning skills

Experience in a similar role with a proven track record It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

 -         Knowledge of the hospitality industry and MICE industry

-         Knowledge of the local market

-         A passion for sales and target-based performance

-         Relevant degree, in sales, business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution
