JOB PURPOSE

Iconic 598-room Hilton Sydney is located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and is steps from Town Hall station and the QVB Light Rail stop. Amongst our operations, we are home to Glass Brasserie, heritage listed Marble Bar and one of the largest Conferencing & Event spaces in Australia. 

As the Director of Finance, you will lead the Finance, Information Technology and Purchasing departments along with their associated operations and serve as the key financial advisor to the General Manager, hotel leaders, and Ownership group alike. You will be responsible for overseeing, directing and administering all financial operations of the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability through account management, reporting, controlling, planning, resourcing and interdepartmental collaboration. This is a senior operational leadership role with an emphasis on stakeholder collaboration and maximising performance.

THE PERSON – QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in complex hotel operations and best in class operator 
  • Relevant degree in Finance or related business discipline, from an academic institution
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA, etc)
  • Organisation, planning skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Rigorous commitment to accuracy and detail
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Effective management skills (upwards and downwards) and the willingness to coach and train others
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional financial acumen with ability to analyse results and develop strategies to maximise performance
  • Ability to analyse competitors and market trends to facilitate business growth 
  • Highly knowledgeable in forecasting, budget, month/quarter/year end closing procedures
  • Skilled and experienced in project management, risk mitigation, data integrity reporting, internal and regulatory financial reporting
  • A proven track record for success
