What will I be doing?

As Catering Sales Manager, you will support the Director of Catering in achieving outstanding guest service, team engagement, financial success, and event operations. Your responsibilities include developing market segments, generating new customer relationships, and negotiating contracts. You'll design creative menus and events to maximize revenue and ensure an exceptional experience for clients. You’ll maintain relationships with corporate and social accounts, oversee event logistics, and ensure high-level service throughout all event phases. This role primarily handles complex social events and may involve supporting the Director of Catering in their absence 

Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Align with the Americas Commercial Operations function while supporting local business results.
  • Drive innovation and creativity in event delivery, ensuring high-quality service standards.
  • Support the sales process and contribute to continuous improvements in processes and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and direction in all catering matters, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Engage proactively with GM/EC, Sales, Catering, Events teams, external guests, and suppliers to drive success.
  • Stay informed on event trends and share best practices for process improvements.
  • Inspire and develop high-performing, multi-cultural, and multi-generational teams to build Hilton’s talent pipeline.
  • Lead with Hilton’s values, mission, and purpose, ensuring a focus on both team member and guest-centric programs.
  • Ensure adherence to standards and best practices for function spaces, exhibit halls, and event spaces, while assisting in staffing, budgeting, and forecasting for events.
  • Oversee the integration of current event management trends and assist in the development and management of departmental budgets.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and support the sales process as needed.

  The rate of pay for this role is $95,000 - $105,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Catering Sales Manager who will play a key role in ensuring an exceptional guest experience for our events. In this role, you will be responsible for managing client inquiries and event bookings with precision and professionalism, anticipating the unique needs of each client, and delivering personalized service that aligns with our commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle a high volume of catering sales efficiently while maintaining a warm, welcoming attitude.

  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel is required
  • Previous experience in a management role is required
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage clients effectively and close business.
  • A keen attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • A deep understanding of current catering trends, with a focus on delivering innovative and exceptional culinary experiences.
  • A collaborative approach to working with internal teams, ensuring seamless event execution.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding service and a commitment to maintaining the Waldorf Astoria New York's high standards of luxury, excellence, and customer satisfaction.
