A Storeroom Control Lead is responsible for verifying the accuracy of and accepting all purchased products into the hotel. Supervises general and food and beverage storerooms and receiving areas. Ensures that all deliveries are to hotel specifications in accordance with receiving sheets, purchase orders, pricing and weights. Supervises the daily operation of the storeroom, proper storage and rotation of all stock so that all food items are fresh. Ensures the storeroom is maintained in a clean and orderly manner. Ensures that products leaving the storeroom are properly requisitioned and approved. Participates in monthly and year-end inventories. 

What will I be doing?
As a Storeroom Control Lead, you would be responsible for verifying the accuracy of and accepting all purchased products into the hotel to deliver an excellent guest experience and to maximize profitability. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Receive all merchandise and place appropriately in facility
  • Inspect deliveries and date times to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality
  • Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items
  • Stack receive merchandise on pallets or carts
  • Deliver merchandise to departments
  • Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies
  • Verify the accuracy and accept all purchased products into the hotel
  • Reconcile received items to purchase orders to verify accuracy, rotating stock, conducting inventory and issuing and delivering items to departments
  • Ensure low stock levels are reported on a timely basis
  • Organize, clean, and sanitize all refrigerators and freezers, floors, food equipment and drains
  • Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash and place in proper storage areas
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations regarding storage, safety and sanitation
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested

To be successful in this role, the candidate must also demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years, handling inventories, receiving merchandise and managing numerical storeroom data
  • Expert knowledge in Excel to create spreadsheets, information tables, formulas creation and many others
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Mathematical skills, attention to detail, ability to work with supply systems and inventory control
  • Ability to work different shifts and days, including weekends and holidays

In addition, to these requisites the candidate must be able to:

  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
