Hilton San Diego Bayfront is looking for its next Senior Events Manager! 


Hilton San Diego Bayfront is an upscale hotel located in the heart of San Diego, offering stunning waterfront views and exceptional meeting facilities. Our hotel is renowned for its impeccable service and vibrant event spaces, making it the ideal destination for both corporate and social events. We are seeking a Senior Events Manager to join our dynamic team and elevate the event experience for our clients.

The annual salary range for this position is $75,000-$86,000 + bonus incentives and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing?

Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning & Coordination: Organize, plan, and prioritize event responsibilities, developing goals and plans to ensure successful events.
  • Client Communication: Maintain open and timely communication with both internal and external clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Creative Design: Develop innovative event concepts, including menus and event themes, to maximize revenue and enhance the event experience.
  • Upselling & Revenue Maximization: Recognize and capitalize on opportunities to upsell and offer event enhancements to increase event revenue.
  • Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts and manage complaints effectively, ensuring client satisfaction while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, hotel departments, and clients to ensure consistency and high-quality service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases.
  • Event Execution: Serve as the primary point of contact for event planners once the event has been handed over from the sales team, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Customer Site Inspections & Sales Support: Participate in customer site inspections and support the sales team as necessary to close business and drive revenue.
  • General Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as needed, based on business demands and operational needs.
  • Regular Attendance: Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, ensuring reliability in the role.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in event planning or event management (hotel or hospitality experience is a plus).
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage high-volume, complex events.
  • Proven experience in upselling and maximizing event revenue.
  • High-level problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity in event design and planning.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (preferred).
  • Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

What are we looking for?

•    Minimum Years of Experience: two (2) years Hospitality related experience at manager level. 
•    Experience of Supervision or management of 1-3 people.   
•    Other requirements: Travel percentage:  10%  

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
•    Knowledge of the hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc)
•    Relevant degree, in business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution (CMP, CPCE)
