Senior Contract Manager Legal Development Americas
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.
What your day-to-day will be like:
- Draft, review, interpret, and negotiate franchise agreements and related franchise documentation.
- Provide advice and counsel in the areas of franchised hotel transactions.
- Interact with Hilton business partners, owners of franchised hotels, and owners’ counsel.
- Manage a team of contract managers and paralegals assigned to the functional team. Supervise contract managers and paralegals on various aspects of the franchise transactional process, including processing internal committee approvals, conducting required due diligence, drafting and distributing franchise agreements and related documents, and communicating with franchisees and business partners.
- Monitor pre-opening requirements, expiration dates, relicensing deadlines, and other milestones and deadlines for franchised hotels.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable franchise laws and reporting requirements.
- Oversee outside counsel on franchise transactional matters.
How you will collaborate with others:
- Build positive working relationships internally with Development, Owner Relations, Architecture and Construction, Market Analysis, Brands, and Legal Compliance functions at Hilton, and externally with franchise applicants, owners, lenders, and their representatives.
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Escalate legal issues above delegated parameters to senior Legal Development Americas team members.
What projects you will take ownership of:
- You would be the lead of one of the franchise transactional teams and take ownership for franchise transactions handled by that team, including supervising support staff and serving as the primary Legal point of contact to the Development or Owner Relations business function.
WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT
You have these minimum qualifications:
- Five (5) years of work experience in a corporate department, law firm, or contract management setting involving substantive transactions or negotiations.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Teams).
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Leadership experience managing a team, building positive partnerships, and working with cross-functional teams.
It would be useful if you have:
- B/A or B/S Bachelor's Degree.
- Seven (7) years of experience involving substantive transactions or negotiations.
- Five (5) years of experience within a franchise, hospitality, or financial practice.
