The Recreation & Entertainment Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the resort’s recreational and entertainment facilities, including the Kids Club, Swimming Pool, Gym, and Guest Entertainment Activities. This role ensures a fun, engaging, and safe environment for all guests while enhancing the resort’s overall guest experience. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for guest satisfaction, ensuring that all recreation and entertainment services align with the hotel’s high-quality standards and brand expectations.

Key Responsibilities : As Recreation & Entertainment Manager, you will:

 

Essential Functions

·         Oversee daily operations of all recreational and entertainment facilities, ensuring smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction.

·         Develop and implement engaging recreational programs, guest entertainment activities, and wellness initiatives.

·         Plan and execute events, collaborating with vendors, entertainers, and other stakeholders.

·         Ensure all facilities are well-maintained, clean, and compliant with health, safety, and legal regulations.

·         Lead and train a team of recreation and entertainment professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.

·         Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial targets are met while optimizing resources.

·         Monitor and enhance guest feedback regarding recreation and entertainment experiences, implementing improvements as needed.

·         Coordinate with Sales and Marketing teams to promote recreational offerings and drive revenue growth.

·         Ensure compliance with RAK Govt, Quality Audits, Mystery Shopper Feedback and other relevant hospitality standards and regulations.

·         Manage inventory of equipment, supplies, and products, maintaining accurate records and cost control.

·         Manage Guest Satisfaction Index and Stay Experience scores through analysis and action plans.

 

Supportive Functions

·         Actively participate in hotel leadership meetings, contributing insights and strategic recommendations.

·         Support sustainability initiatives within the department and broader hotel operations.

·         Conduct staff performance evaluations, coaching, and training programs to enhance skills and service excellence.

·         Provide backup support for other departments as needed to ensure seamless guest service.

·         Assist in emergency response procedures, ensuring guest and staff safety at all times.

·         Stay updated with industry trends and implement innovative recreational experiences for guests.

 

Organizational Relationships

·         Reports directly to the Director of Operations and General Manager.

·         Works closely with the Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering teams.

·         Works closely with other Guest Relations departments and Administrative Departments to enhance Guest and Team Member Experiences.

·         Supervises recreation and entertainment team members, including fitness trainers, kids club team members, activity coordinators, and lifeguards.

·         Liaises with external vendors, entertainers, and local authorities to enhance the guest experience.

Hierarchy and Scope of Leadership

·         Positions directly reporting to this position are: Recreation Supervisors, Shift Leaders, Lifeguards, Kids Club Team, Animators Team.

 

Safety Requirements

·         Adhere to hotel safety policies, emergency rules, and procedures.

·         Ensure understanding and follow the contents of the employee policies and procedures.

·         Knowledge of how to conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate potential hazards

Who Are We Looking For?

Prior professional experience in UAE would be an advantage.

Education and Qualifications:

 

A degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field.

Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role within a resort or hotel.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including spreadsheets and presentations.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and training employees.

Excellent communication, organizational, and financial management abilities.

Knowledge of safety regulations, first aid, and emergency preparedness.

Ability to develop and implement engaging recreational and entertainment programs.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs..

Useful To Know:  This position is full-time and may require working weekends and/or evening shifts.
