What will I be doing?

A Linen Runner for Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi  is responsible for the daily assigned duties within the linen rooms as instructed by Housekeeping Managers. As Linen Runner you will also be required to have extensive knowledge of housekeeping operations. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Be fully aware and comply with all Fire and Evacuation procedures as well as health and safety requirements.

• Ensure thorough knowledge about the housekeeping department and procedures.

• Ensure all resort equipment, tools, keys, supplies are handled properly and kept in good working condition always following instructions as directed.

• Ensure all housekeeping linen pantries are filled daily with required stock.

• Ensure to maintain guest laundry standards.

• Ensure to have a knowledge about the resort services and facilities.

• Report maintenance issues and follow up progress.

• Report any safety hazards.

• Carry out Lost and Found procedures.

• Ensure to maintain the standards of cleanliness of all working areas.

• Be environmentally aware.

• Efficiently handle guest complaints using MIR (Make It Right).

• At all times ensure an exceptional level of customer service by providing personal assistance to guests with a professional, pleasant and positive manner.

• Be proactive and observant in service to pre-exempt guest needs.

• Maintain Hilton grooming standards including uniform dress code, cleanliness and personal hygiene.

• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.

• Attend training and meetings when required.

• Ensure quality controls are in place for all linen processes.

• Maintain the cleanliness of linen buggies and maintenance.

• Assist Laundry Manager to carrying out monthly inventory as requested

• Assist Laundry Manager and Assistant Laundry Manager to count monthly discards for all the linen in the pantries.

• Maintain laundry production for the machines and linens.

• Ensure thorough knowledge of all chemicals and MSDS (material safety data sheet).

• Ensure to maintain the par stock levels.

• Ensure to take receipt of stock and safely store.

• Maintain appropriate records (Linen stocks, repairs, etc.) in accordance with occupancy and legal requirements.

• Attend daily housekeeping morning and evening briefings, before commencing the shift.

• Able to drive different types of buggies and adhere to the procedures.

• Deliver Housekeeping items requested by the guest in a timely manner to guarantee guest satisfaction.

   

  Arrange linen in pantries as per Housekeeping standards to maintain the quality and cleanliness of the linen

• Collect guest supplies and water bottles from the stores and place in Housekeeping and the pantries ensuring that a minimum stock level is maintained
• Take pro-active action towards protecting the resort environment
• Ensure wastage of supplies and energy is kept to a minimum
• Understand and strictly adhere to the policies and procedures established in the Team Member Handbook
• The Resort requires that you perform any task deemed necessary by the General Manager/Hotel Manager for the efficient running of the Housekeeping Department specifically and the Resort in general
