Lead Software Engineer, API
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.
What your day-to-day will be like:
- Architect, design, and develop microservices solutions using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Develop GraphQL schemas, resolvers, and data models to expose the application’s data to clients.
- Integrate the backend APIs with underlying data sources and business logic.
- Write clean and concise code that is stable, extensible, and unit tested appropriately.
- Advocate standard methodologies in design patterns, architectural principles, and coding standards.
- Conduct detailed code reviews to maintain code quality and alignment to architectural guidelines.
- Stay updated on technology trends and innovations, and share knowledge and insights with the team.
How you will collaborate with others:
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, delivery managers, quality engineers, designers, and other developers, offering technical guidance to help define requirements and implement solutions that meet business goals.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including grooming sessions, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
What projects you will take ownership of:
- Support the backend API needs to roll-out new features that enhance the shopping and booking experience for personal and business travel.
- Support projects that improve the guest experience through personalization and digitalization.
WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT
You have these minimum qualifications:
- Five (5) years of professional work experience within Technology or a related field
- Five (5) years of experience working with Node.js and Typescript
- Four (4) years of experience working with GraphQL API development
- Four (4) years of experience with full cycle software development
- Travel up to 5-10% as needed
It would be useful if you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience
- Seven (7)+ years of professional experience within Technology or a related field
- Four (4)+ years of experience with full cycle software development in an Agile environment including design, coding, testing, release, and maintenance
- Previous development experience building RESTful API’s or other API architectures
- Experience with NoSQL databases, Apache Kafka, and Content Management Systems
- Proven background in web development using technologies like Express.js, Nest.js, and other related frameworks and libraries
- Proficiency with Gitlab for version control and Atlassian Suite for team collaboration
