Food Safety, Health & Safety Manager
What are we looking for?
A Health and Safety Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

1. Hands on experience in Food Safety, Health & Safety Hazard identification and Risk Assessment.
2. Good Communicational & Interpersonal and analytical skills.
3. Auditing, Inspection, training and coaching skills.
4. Working knowledge of various departments in the hotel & food manufacturing industry.
5. Effective and in-depth knowledge of food microbiology with specific ability to analyze & investigate food poisoning related claims and allegations.
6. Ability to deal effectively with all team members and guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information.
7. Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing in order to ascertain and document important information.
8. Thorough knowledge of the hotels floor plans and layout of the building(s), function rooms and working knowledge of the city and surrounding area.
9. Should be familiar with the working knowledge of various aspects of a BMS (Building Management Systems).
10. Working knowledge or proficiency in technical aspects of various departments like engineering when specific tasks like Calibration or P.P.M. (Periodic Preventive Maintenance) of equipments need to be carried out.
11. In-depth knowledge of use and handling of Chemicals pertaining to the Industry, with major emphasis on concepts like COSHH (Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health)
12. Environmental sustainability measures and the ability to interpret data and analyse the final carbon foot print generated by any activity in the hotel industry.
13. Should be well versed with technical knowledge to interpret scientific data from Microbiological tests on food, water & Contact surfaces.
14. Should be well versed with GCC standards on Food Microbiological Analysis and Water Parameter tests (e.g. Total dissolved salts, pH & Chlorine levels at the final point of use.
15. Proficiency in the ability to use a variety of programs on the computer in order to prepare correspondence, policies, procedures, work instruction manuals, produce reports and presentations and communicate via email.
16. Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for a ten-plus hour shift.
17. Visual ability to observe team members in the work place, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to both team member and guest behaviours.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- NEBOSH IGC, Level 4 Food Safety Certification, accredited HACCP certification,Municipality’s Person In Charge Train The Trainer, First Aid, and AED & Fire Warden’s certificate. Membership with recognized Health & Safety forums like IOSH, IIRSM, certified international food safety manager certificate.
EDUCATION
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Science,chemistry or Medical back ground with relevant qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, HACCP & Food Microbiology. Should be able to qualify Municiaplity’s approved Internal Food Safety trainer.
