Food & Beverage Manager
What are we looking for?
A Food & Beverage Manager serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior Food & Beverage leadership role within a 4 or 5-star hotel or luxury restaurant.
• Formal qualification in Hospitality Management or Business (preferred).
• Current knowledge of NZ liquor licensing laws, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations.
• Financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profit maximization.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Strong leadership and people management skills, including training and performance development.
• Advanced computer literacy (POS systems, inventory management, MS Office).
• Numerical proficiency for cost analysis and labour control.
• Ability to plan and execute events, conferences, and banqueting operations.
• In-depth knowledge of food and beverage trends, menu engineering, and merchandising.
• Experience in inventory management, supplier negotiations, and compliance.
• Familiarity with marketing strategies for F&B promotions and events.
• Understanding of sustainability practices and emerging dining trends.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing business needs.
• Guest-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Ability to maintain team morale and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Comfortable with standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
