The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for an Event Service Manager to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

Classification: Full-Time
Shift: Various – must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate: The pay range for this role is $25.00 - $28.00/ hour and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
What will I be doing?
An Event Service Manager will execute all aspects of the convention resume and banquet event order arrangements between the hotel and customer during the meetings or events. Acts as liaison between the customer and hotel by directing each department within the hotel as to their specific role of operational execution. Successful achievement of this goal will ultimately result in a major contribution to the re-booking of all future business. Maximizes revenues through effective up-selling of products and services. Promotes service excellence and enhancement opportunities to our guests.
As an Event Service Manager, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Greet client and assist as needed.
- Oversees and assists in the physical movement of hotel furnishings as necessary to complete a tight turn-around of public function space.
- Assists customer with set-up of their event, as needed.
- Check all event room and food/beverage details for accuracy.
- Create, display, and remove client signage and provide directional assistance as needed.
- Monitor and communicate group movement for operations team (ie: room refreshes, program/event changes, box movement, room rekeys, set-up and tear down assistance).
- Works closely with exhibitors, decorators, outside AV providers, outside vendors to ensure accurate set-up and tear down of events.
- Ensure compliance to all safety and fire code procedures.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
