Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Orlando Resort is looking for a Director of Purchasing to join their Leadership Team supporting the Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Orlando.
The Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek boasts 1009 bedrooms and suites, with 210,000 sq. ft of meeting space. The hotel boasts 7 distinct dining options including La Luce, Zeta Asia, Harvest, Beech, Myth and Muse as well as a three-acre lagoon-style pool with lazy river.
The Waldorf Astoria consists of 501 deluxe rooms and suites and has 36,500 sq. ft of meeting space including the brand-new Central Park Ballroom. Additionally, it has 4 signature Waldorf Astoria food and beverage restaurants: Bull & Bear, Peacock Alley, Oscar’s and Aquamarine, an amazing formal signature pool with lush landscaping as well as an 18-hole 7,113-yard championship Golf Course & Clubhouse Grill.
A Director of Purchasing for Signia Atlanta plans, organizes, directs and controls all purchasing functions of the hotel to ensure that the highest quality product is purchased at the best possible price. Controls inventories at appropriate levels. Manages the RFP and bid process. Obtain bids from vendors according to the specifications set by the standards and/or department head. Determines the best possible price for the desired items and place orders for all food and non-food items. Schedules deliveries of items and monitor the quality of products received. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.
- Hire, supervise, train, coach, counsel and discipline purchasing staff to ensure smooth
operation of all aspects of the department. - Manage the RFP and bid process. Obtain bids from vendors according to the specifications
set by the standards and/or department head. Determine the best possible price for the
desired items and place orders for all food and non-food items. - Schedule deliveries of items and monitor the quality of products received to ensure they
meet the hotel’s established standards and operational needs as outlined by each
department. - Communicate with Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs and
order all food and beverage products according to hotel needs and specifications. Forecast
operational needs and schedules deliveries of all food and beverage items. - Ensure all regional and corporate purchasing programs, policies and procedures are met.
Monitor appropriate levels of inventories in order to minimize waste and maximize turnover. - Participate in all hotel meetings including staff, Food and Beverage, and Banquet Event
Order (BEO) meetings.
