OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for leading the hotel’s brand positioning, marketing strategy and communications efforts, ensuring strong market presence and alignment with the NoMad identity.

This role oversees all aspects of public relations, digital marketing, brand storytelling, partnerships and guest-facing communications. Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and senior leadership team, the Director of Marketing & Communications ensures that all campaigns, content and messaging reflect the spirit of NoMad while driving awareness, engagement and commercial performance.

The role plays a key part in shaping the narrative of the hotel, building meaningful connections with guests, media and partners, and establishing NoMad Singapore as a leading lifestyle destination.


MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the Director of Marketing & Communications are summarised below; however the list is not exhaustive.

 

GENERAL DUTIES

• Lead the development and execution of the hotel’s marketing and communications strategy across all channels.

• Act as the guardian of the NoMad brand, ensuring consistency in visual identity, tone of voice and storytelling across all touchpoints.

• Oversee all marketing campaigns, promotional activities and content strategies, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.

• Work closely with the Commercial Director to support revenue generation through targeted marketing initiatives.

• Manage internal communications and serve as the key point of contact for all marketing and communications matters within the hotel.

• Ensure all marketing activities are aligned with brand standards, corporate guidelines and business priorities.

• Oversee the development and maintenance of all digital platforms including website, social media and eCommerce channels.

• Ensure accuracy and consistency of all hotel information across online and offline channels.

• Manage creative assets including photography, videography, collateral and brand materials.

• Undertake any other duties or tasks deemed reasonable by the Commercial Director or General Manager.


PUBLIC RELATIONS & MEDIA

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers and key opinion leaders across local and international markets.

• Lead all PR activities including media outreach, press releases, media visits, press conferences and events.

• Act as the hotel spokesperson when appropriate and respond to media enquiries in a timely manner.

• Identify opportunities for brand exposure, features and awards to elevate the hotel’s positioning.

• Manage PR agencies and external partners to ensure effective and impactful communications.

• Monitor and report on PR coverage, media exposure and campaign effectiveness.


DIGITAL MARKETING & BRAND ACTIVATION

• Oversee all digital marketing initiatives including social media, online campaigns and eCommerce platforms.

• Develop engaging content strategies that enhance brand awareness and guest engagement.

• Manage and optimise the hotel’s online presence across all platforms.

• Identify and execute partnerships, collaborations and brand activations that strengthen market positioning.

• Work closely with the F&B team to develop and execute marketing strategies for restaurants, bars and events.

• Lead the planning and execution of hotel events, launches and promotional activities.


LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

• Lead and develop the Marketing & Communications team to deliver high-quality output and performance.

• Manage external agencies and vendors including digital, creative and PR partners.

• Foster a collaborative working relationship with all departments to support business objectives.

• Identify development opportunities and build capabilities within the team.

• Promote a culture of creativity, accountability and brand excellence.


FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE & OPERATIONS

• Manage the marketing and communications budget to ensure effective allocation of resources.

• Monitor the return on investment of marketing campaigns and initiatives.

• Ensure cost-effective use of external vendors and marketing platforms.

• Support commercial performance through strategic marketing initiatives.


GUEST EXPERIENCE & BRAND REPRESENTATION

Shape and communicate the narrative of NoMad Singapore as a lifestyle destination.

• Ensure all guest-facing communications reflect the brand’s identity, tone and service philosophy.

• Enhance guest engagement through creative storytelling and meaningful brand experiences.

• Uphold the integrity and positioning of the NoMad brand across all channels.


CRISIS COMMUNICATION & RISK MANAGEMENT

• Support the development and implementation of crisis communication strategies.

• Work closely with senior leadership to manage communications during crisis situations.

• Provide timely and appropriate messaging to protect the hotel’s reputation.

• Ensure readiness and alignment of communication protocols in high-risk situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management or a related field.

• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, preferably within hospitality or lifestyle brands.

• Strong experience in public relations, digital marketing, brand management and content strategy.

• Proven ability to develop and execute successful marketing campaigns.

• Strong network within media, PR and influencer communities is advantageous.

• Experience managing agencies and external vendors.

• Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills.

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
