Qualifications and Key Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Engineering leadership roles, ideally within the hospitality industry
  • Proven experience managing large teams and driving engineering strategies to improve operational experience, preferably in a union environment
  • Strong understanding of building management, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other mechanical services essential to hotel operations
  • Excellent problem-solving and crisis management skills, especially in high-pressure situations
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, projects, payroll, and basic accounting
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software and building management systems
  • Excellent and effective communication skills and a track record of leading high-performance teams
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

  

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Advanced knowledge of sustainable and energy-saving practices
  • First Aid certification and qualification in a specialized engineering field
