What will I be doing?

As the Director of Marketing Planning & Enablement, you will orchestrate the annual marketing and customer engagement planning across the APAC region to ensure marketing & loyalty efforts drive brand love, new customer acquisition, commercial performance, and delivery of a connected customer experience!

You will be committed to partnering across the M&L functional team to drive alignment of people, process, metrics, and goals to define the coordinated customer, channel, and portfolio strategies to better anticipate and deliver on customer needs and marketing opportunities while ensuring impact and standards are measured and optimized. You will need to establish relationships quickly in a dynamic organization as well as adeptly make strategic recommendations on marketing plans and capabilities to drive future growth and greater customer focus with the flexibility to change direction when needed.

More specifically, you will: 

  • Work closely with the Vice President of Marketing & Loyalty APAC to lead and provide direction for the quarterly, annual, and long-term marketing planning process including identifying key priorities, aligning sub-regional priorities, integrating with global priorities, and identifying vital resources required to implement the annual plan.
  • Build a comprehensive view of coordinated marketing strategies, plans, and performance and communicate to a variety of cross-functional partners, including senior leaders. 
  • Build, maintain, and implement a roadmap and change plan for operational transformation and enhancements to improve collaboration and effectiveness across the APAC Marketing & Loyalty department with a primary focus on integration for new workflow, tools, and capabilities. 
  • Promote multi-channel marketing and digital innovation across the organization and drive a data-driven method to market strategies and plans. 
  • Provide direction for ongoing useful analysis, insights, and recommendations on opportunities to help drive in-quarter and long-term performance across marketing activity. 
  • Identify outstanding methodologies, innovations, and future trends and apply them across functions including developing standardized templates and tools that can be used by all markets.
  • Craft a collaborative method across internal and partner teams working closely with global planning, regional commercial planning, analytics and insights, and agency teams in the development of regional marketing and loyalty plans, projects, and initiatives. 
  • Drive the implementation of key critical initiatives including the creation of multi-phase project plans which incorporate prioritization and project risk analysis.
  • Identify needed capabilities to deliver on dynamic business needs and partner with the APAC marketing and loyalty leadership team to meet objectives. 
  • Develop and champion an agile approach to planning and project delivery that maximizes resource efficiency and business prioritization.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations and execution team responsible for implementing the delivery of go-to-market plans and enabling operational enhancements. 
  • Partner with the marketing performance team to create clear, measurable benchmarks and measurement strategies for operational effectiveness across the department. 
  • Inform budget effectiveness and planning: acting as a touchpoint for marketing leaders and highlighting any duplication or opportunities to consolidate across teams.
  • Utilize the feedback loop of performance and insight to feed into future marketing planning and strategy development.
  • Define and implement a learning repository for the team, ensuring all projects, results, and plans are retained and utilized by the team for enhanced learnings and refined best practices.

  • Experience in defining and driving transformation initiatives for complex organizations including, organization change and workflow management, technology implementation, and operational excellence.
  • An aptitude for motivating and inspiring cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong ability to collaborate and influence others in a complex, global organisation.
  • Proven experience in online and offline marketing tactics and multi-channel, customer-centric marketing. 
  • Confident communication of ideas to senior executive and owner audiences. 

To fulfil this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications: 

  • Seven (7) years of professional experience 
  • Experience in project management having constructed plans that are demonstrable in understanding critical path and task dependencies 
  • Solid understanding of marketing resource management and marketing automation tools 
  • Travel - up to 20% 

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions: 

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree or MA/MS/MBA Master's Degree 
  • Experience working in a regional APAC role 
  • Agency experience within a planning or strategy role
  • Travel or hospitality experience
