What will I be doing? 

Manages plans & directs an engineering strategy for hotels in GCM region to ensure EBITBA targets are met, and Owners Return are achieved. Ensures key engineering performance targets are implemented in an effective way. Analyses technical data to provide hotels and regional Ops teams with efficient and cost-effective solutions to maximize profitability. Interacts with support functions (AD&C, Brand, Legal and Finance) to ensure the projects in the region comply with all Hilton goals, objectives, and criteria.

Areas of responsibility will cover (but not be limited to):

•    Utilities management (strategy and implementation)
•    Monitoring and managing Light Stay
•    Real estate & asset management
•    Facilities and property strategy
•    Environmental compliance
•    Protection of asset and brand through FLS systems & equipment
•    Hilton CAPEX and managed capital co-ordination
•    Engineering support & coverage as required.
•    Annual engineering Audit for Luxury and Full-Service brand hotels
•    Share best facility management practice with all managed properties and benchmark their performance.

Position Summary:

Planning Activities 25%

•    Establishes strategies and directions for the hotel engineering teams, directing efforts to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the 
        organization.
•    Evaluate & identifies business opportunities to increase efficiency & reduce costs.
•    Determines & implements appropriate objectives for engineering teams.
•    Establishes procedures & processes in relation to the engineering goals for the region.
 

•    Reviews performance KPI’s & conduct support visits to increase overall effectiveness of hotels.
•    Schedules and plans asset replacement with the relevant stakeholders.

Organizing Activities 25%

•    Works with the regional AD&C, Brand & Ops leadership teams to ensure the overall strategic direction of the GCM Operational Engineering department 
        team is consistent with and supported by these areas.
•    Works with key stakeholders to ensure engineering objectives are accomplished.
•    Identifies resources, oversees activities, and confers to ensure objectives for Engineering department are accomplished.
•    Establishes the flow of authority and communication between owners, hotels, and other positions within the organization.

Directing Activities 35%

•    Directs assignment of tasks ensuring optimum allocation of resources
•    Oversees and evaluates business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
•    Manages cross-functional links.
•    Implements business metrics to ensure effectiveness of Operational Engineering department.
•    Implements technical inspections and reports as required.

Controlling Activities 15%

•    Oversees and evaluates engineering data to ensure correct reporting.
•    Translates organizational goals & objectives into performance standards for hotels.
•    Assesses actual performance against standards to determine whether on target to reach its goals and takes corrective actions as necessary.
•    Works with regional corporate senior team to support business objectives.
•    Establishes and enforces policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Company.
•    Works with relevant departments to review and approve hotel engineering budget / targets.
•    Reviews and makes appropriate adjustments in activities and expenses throughout the fiscal year to ensure optimal financial results.
•    Conducts on site visits/audits if and when needed.

Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the company.

What are we looking for?

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to perform the essential functions of the job,

        with industry experts.

Required

•    Fluency in English and Mandarin
•    Extensive experience within GCM
•    College degree in an engineering discipline
•    Extensive BMS system knowledge
•    Ability to travel as required.
•    5 years' experience in a similar industry/ role Preferred
•    Advanced degree
•    Five years of hospitality industry experience preferred, with a mix of experience from other engineering management roles.
•    In-depth knowledge of maintenance contracts
•    Working knowledge of energy management systems including supply and demand fundamentals
