QUALITY

  • To continually develop and maintain databases.
  • Ensure quality of hotel and regional image library through Hilton’s Creative Library is maintained.
  • To fully capitalize on Hilton marketing programs and resources.
  • Ensure brand.com site is written and formatted for maximum search engine optimization. Regular validation of the hotel key words to ensure that site is written to include relevant terms and based on upcoming events.
  • Ensure ongoing review of Hotel presence via social media pages and ensure adherence to Hilton Worldwide Social Media Policy.
  • Prospect for linking opportunities and coordinate execution of link strategy. Sign up portals that send business back to brand.com as appropriate.
  • Execute the hotel’s public relations strategy and to ensure the hotel is represented as an active member of the local community.
  • Monitor market and competition activity to ensure effectiveness of marketing activities.
  • Carry out regular brand checks and audits, and implement marketing communications approval process.
  • Develop, maintain and expand network for external publicity distribution (ie up to date and accurate database for PR distribution, locally and internationally).
  • Liaise with local or foreign celebrity agencies to co-ordinate events and maximise opportunities for prominent positioning of the hotel, as and when appropriate.
  • Oversee quality of new photography.
  • Develop, implement and monitor any hotel driven loyalty programs.
  • Champion brand values and ensure the hotel adheres to brand and product standards, positioning, identity and guidelines in all communication (visual, print and electronic).
  • To develop an imaginative and creative communications program designed to obtain positive public understanding and maximum acceptance of the hotel by all its publics, including press, travel planners, government, business and local communities, employees and guests.
  • To develop and maintain high-level contacts with key media in the community (Thailand and source markets) and to ensure proper dissemination of the hotel’s policy, objectives and actions to the general public.
  • Cross sell other Hilton Worldwide wherever possible.

 

CUSTOMER/GUEST

  • Occasionally participate in the special handling of VIP guests as requested by Executive committee.
  • Photography, predicated on VIP Guest compliance.
  • Personal appearance and/or media interviews for hotel entertainers or celebrity guests.
  • Welcome letters, calls and personal meetings.

                                                                                                       

PROFIT

  • Manage the coordination of cross-selling, joint marketing initiatives and other hotel/brand synergies to maximize exposure and profitability including agency contact, media planning and hotel communications.
  • Align the Marketing Plan to the Revenue Plan ensuring promotion of the hotel leads to achieving revenue targets and profitability.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

 

PEOPLE

  • Maintain good relationships with partners airlines, tourist boards etc. to ensure maximisation of foreign media contacts. Drive Hilton’s participation in their publicity programs.
  • To hire, develop and ensure appropriate training and disciplinary action for a PR support team. Control and approve all overtime and vacation planning for the team.
  • Welcome all visiting media with full itineraries and press kits and provide them with the hotel’s key messages.
  • Conduct daily PR briefings with team to communicate the requirements for upcoming functions and events.
  • Act as liaison between senior management and media or other public contact.  Assist senior management with preparation of press statements and the handling of crisis situations.
  • Supervise all arrangements for photographers on assignments and personally ensure the photography complies with Hilton image library standards.
  • Take part in regular calls with other Hilton hotel PR teams as well as the regional/area PR Director to maximize awareness of the Hotels activities.
  • Establish in-house communications (e.g. Newsletter or bulletin board) for keeping employees informed of corporate announcements, in-hotel and/or community activities involving hotel staff participation, with the HR division’s support. This is as and when required.
  • Assist with planning for employee special events.
  • Generate external publicity on internal employee motivation programs.
  • Meet monthly with the appropriate hotel teams.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other departments, employees, and guests.
  • Encourages team work and spirit in all areas of the department
  • To lead by example at all times.
  • Assist to provide direction and support to the team on a daily basis.

 

 

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • To provide guidance for, and clearance of, statements, articles, interviews and speeches by hotel personnel and to recommend public platforms in line with corporate guidelines.
  • To ensure that hotel collateral and publications are appropriate, timely, effective and prepared and produced in line with corporate guidelines.
  • To obtain and maintain current information on attitude or options about the hotel(s) or group in the community, bringing this to the attention of the relevant Hilton contacts
  • To develop individual skills and performance to the highest level through performance reviews, coaching and training.

 

ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENT

  • Research, plan and prepare and reach an agreement on an annual hotel communications plan based on the hotel’s Business Development Plan. Where appropriate, link this into the regional or corporate support plan.
  • Submit daily/monthly reports to CD, GM and Regional HI management.
  • Attend and be attentive in all daily BD morning briefings, Department head meetings and any other meeting as required.
  • Ensure all printed matter fully complies with HI brand standards and HI PR policies.

 

 

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY

  • Assist to generate and develop leads for coverage and revenue opportunities relating to catering sales/and or room sales; through active networking activities in the local community.

 

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS - Government Business, Community and international Relations:

 

  • Establish links to and develop contacts within the local and regional societies by supporting ad hoc projects.
  • Prepare a list of National Days for the various embassies and consultants in local market, sending out appropriate greetings.

 

PRESS RELATION

  • Become a spokesperson for the hotel.
  • Establish contact with key trade and consumer writers in local media markets and in key source markets to maximize exposure in the media.
  • Develop story angles to promote the hotel – develop feature material and monitor editorial schedules for opportunity.  Handle local market (country) media personally.
  • Refresh press kit for the hotel.
  • Establish and maintain photo-file, biography file and slide/graphics library for the hotel, liaising with head office and the group photo-agency to update the files.
  • Establish press-clipping system to review items in local trade and consumer media relevant to the hotel or competition.
  • Ensure relevant publications and clippings received are routed to Executive and Key Managers in a Circulation File.

 

EVENTS

  • Assist to prepare an annual Events program in conjunction with various hotel departments, including F&B,  aiming to:
    • Develp and maintain good contacts with local editors, columnists, radio and TV news personalities, and locally based trade media,
    • Answer press enquiries accurately and prmptly,
    • Arrange press, bradcast and/or TV facilities in the hotel when needed,
    • Represent htel at certain functions outside the property.
  • Prepare and expanding local arrangements for visiting journalists either on individual visits or group press trips, from arrival to departure.  Providing background information and material.
  • Internal Communications.
  • Chair monthly co-ordination meetings to remain updated with current hotel news; and to participate public relations related planning and promotions.

 

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

 

  • Contribute creative promotional ideas for F&B outlets, entertainment centres and meetings conventions.
  • Participate in the preparation of collateral for F&B promotions.

 

SALES

 

  • Assist to reinforce sales objective with consistent advertising and public relations objectives.
  • Contribute creative promotional ideas to support sales efforts.
  • Participate in the preparation of sales collateral, including newsletters, or flyers of tent cards, etc.

 

 

HEAD OFFICE – Regional role activities through Corporate PR division:

 

  • Respond to specific requests from Hilton Worldwide Regional/Area Contacts / Commercial Director and provide ongoing media support of the brand in Korea.
  • Actively identify, implement and coordinate joint PR activities with the other Korea and Asia hotels (such as press trips, award programmes, potential media features or promotions and coverage, etc).
  • Report on regular progress by forwarding monthly report and by participating to the monthly conference calls with the PR network.

 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, develop and market key events for the hotel, especially during key business periods.
  • Communicate effectively, to target markets, the amenities and benefits of the hotel, including hotel refurbishments, food and beverage provisions, conference, banqueting and events
  • Work with local third party partners, including local media, and maintain professional working relationships with local official bodies
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive media and marketing contact management system relevant to the target audiences of the hotel
  • Manage and control marketing budgets by using resources effectively.
  • Work closely across all hotel departments, seeking proactive opportunities and planned promotions to address specific business challenges, as required
  • Manage and promote the hotel on Hilton Worldwide branded websites
  • Develop and own promotional activities, marketing channels and the production of marketing materials for specific events
  • Implement PR campaigns to celebrate successes and awards and the promotion of products
  • Respond to media enquiries when approached for comments and/or reports.
  • Research and develop new opportunities within key target markets.
  • Any project assigned by the supervisor.
